Using Your Scale and Weighing Items:
One of the most important things you have learned by reading your instructions, is your Digital Electronic Scale's Capacity. Capacity is the Maximum of what your Digital Scale will allow you to weigh and still function properly. Keeping this in mind, you also know several of our scales have a choice of weighing "units", "increments" or "modes". These are what you will select to weigh your item(s) in. They include: Grams, Ounces, Pounds, Pounds/Ounces, Kilograms, Kilograms/Grams and in some Scales, Carats, DWT, Pennyweight or Troy Ounce. Knowing which options your particular Digital Scale has, now is the time to select the "unit" or "Mode" you wish to weigh in.  Now you may place your item on the tray or platform of the scale (or with the bathroom scales, just stand on it) and observe the digital read out for that particular item in which you are weighing! Simply portion your item(s) according to the desired readout and "a-weigh" you go!  Alot of the scales that we carry on The Home Scales.com come with an Auto-Off  feature, and a Last Weight Memory. The Auto-off feature allows you to not worry about turning off your scale (in case you forgot), it will automatically shut off  for you and ensure long battery life. If your scale does not have this feature , Please be sure to turn it off when you are done. Last Weight Memory is a great feature that allows you to see the read out of what you last weighed on the scale.
*Note, Some of our Kitchen & Bathroom Digital Scales have "Unique" features that you Definately want to read up on to get the benefit of All the offered features
Helpful Hints and Suggestions:
1.  Never overload your scales Capacity - A Digital Electronic Scale is a delicate instrument,  with precision sensors. Avoid dropping, jolting or misuse.
2.  Be sure your batteries are in good working condition and maintained regularly.
3.  Always keep your scale clean, dirt and dust free. (some people choose to use a dust cover or protective pouch etc.)  Gently remove dust with a clean cloth or rag. If you have a stainless steel tray or glass platform, you may clean and disinfect that part of the scale to the manufacturers suggestion(s).
4.  Never get your scale wet!! - Electronics and moisture do not mix, and can seriously injure or literally kill your scale.
5.  Always keep your scale at room temperature, do not expose to excessive heat or cold. If your scale has been in either one, allow a few hours before operating.
6.  When storing your scale for any length of time, remove the batteries to prevent corrosion.
7.  Keep a spare pack of the batteries that your scale takes and designate them just for your scale, when you need them they'll be there.
8.  Insuring proper care and maintenance, your scale should out live the Manufacturer's Warranty.
